My First Power Tee Experience

Find me on:

I am not ashamed to admit - I am horrible at golf.

My grandfather is a scratch golfer and he tried to teach me for years and years as a kid, but I would get frustrated and throw a fit (and maybe a club) because golf was "just too hard".

Now, I am a 25 year old who is extremely surprised when I don't whiff completely off the tee. My handicap would be 125.

However, being that I LOVE watching golf and I work for a golf company, and also being that it is no longer 100 degrees in Florida, I thought I'd go to the driving range this weekend, grab a tasty adult beverage for courage, and try and improve my mad skillz. original-5

Naturally, I went to a range in the area that has Power Tee. We have some units set up in the office, and I've seen Power Tee at other places many times, but I've never actually hit off of one until Saturday, mostly because I was terrified of what would happen if I did.

This is way-better-golfer-than-me Jim Furyk at the range I went to!

But, as time went on, I was able to adjust my swing without breaking my focus, since the ball came up automatically. I got better and better as each swing progressed, and on one of my last attempts, I drove the ball a STRAIGHT 200 yards!

In addition to helping me improve my pathetic game faster, hitting off the Power Tee was just plain fun. It really had that arcade-like feel - my golf balls were popping up and I got to (try to) smack them, like Whack-A-Mole! It made golf feel more like fun than work, even when I was struggling to, you know, actually make contact with the ball.

If you're a total and complete liability on the course like me, a beginner golfer, or a seasoned pro, Power Tee has something that everyone will enjoy, and it will help you improve your swing and have fun doing it.
