Current FedEx Cup Standings Update

I don't know about you guys, but I am still filled with joy over Tiger's Masters win.

However, there is much more golf to be played this year. Let's check out where some of the PGA Tour notables stand in the FedEx Cup rankings after golf's first major of the year:

1. Matt Kuchar: 2 wins, 6 top 10's, 2,030 points

Kuch may not pay his caddies well, but he sure is playing well this year. 2 wins and 6 top 10 finishes in 13 events is pretty crazy. He's 468 points ahead of #2 Xander Schauffele, and is a serious contender to win his first FedEx Cup. Kuch is showing that, at 40, the young guys still need to try and keep up with him. However, Kuchar still has yet to win a major in his career.

3. Rory McIlroy: 1 win, 7 top 10's, 1,457 points

The Irishman's win this year came, fittingly, on St. Patrick's Day at THE PLAYERS Championship here in Ponte Vedra. He is one Masters win away from a career grand slam, and he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

6. Brooks Koepka: 1 win, 3 top 10's, 1,112 points

Is it bad that I was rooting for Brooks Koepka to beat Tiger at The Masters? Because I definitely was, until about the 17th hole. Brooks is ranked 3rd in the Official World Golf Rankings, and he is a major-winning machine. He's also devilishly handsome.

15. Tiger Woods: 1 win, 3 top 10's, 888 points

Winning is good. In Tiger's case, his win moved him to #15 from #76 on the FedEx Cup points list. Let's be honest here: if he goes on and wins the FedEx Cup this year, will we really be surprised? Tiger has shown he can pretty much do anything at this point.

27. Jim Furyk: 3 top 10's, 692 points

Would you look at that?! Jim ended the 2018 season ranked 223rd on the Official World Golf Rankings. The 223rd best golfer in the world in 2018. NOW look at him! He's now ranked 52nd on the OWGR, 27th on the FedEx Cup points list, and ranked 1st on the Tour in driving accuracy percentage. We think this is just the beginning of an amazing year for Jim!
