Honda Classic Preview

Do you hear that? That soft, sweet, sensual saxophone? Why, that must mean...

Kenny G is here!

Oh man, I LOVE Kenny G. Who doesn't? He's 3-handicap golfer, which is amazing for a guy who practices saxophone 3 hours every day. He's also perpetually happy and smiling, and he plays in the Pro-Am round of the Honda Classic just about every year - 2019 was no exception. In the Wednesday Pro-Am round, Kenny G was playing alongside Ernie Els, Greg Norman, former NBA player Shane Battier, and other celebrities, which I'm sure was absolutely amazing.

Oh yeah, and the professionals start competition today.

This is home field advantage for Justin Thomas and Brooks Koepka, who are both born and raised in the Palm Beach area. However, Brooks Koepka shot 9-over after two rounds in 2017, so it's safe to say this course isn't his favorite. Koepka did not play last year due to injury.

Justin Thomas took home the trophy at last year's Honda Classic, so it's safe to say he's the odds-on favorite to defend his title.

Another golfer to look out for is Rickie Fowler, winner of the 2017 Honda Classic.

Due to the PGA Tour schedule this year, many significant golfers, most notably Tiger Woods, withdrew from the event. Next week is the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and then The PLAYERS Championship in Power Tee's backyard in Ponte Vedra. It's a packed 3-week schedule, something the PGA (and Honda, the PGA's longest active title sponsor) may want to look at for next year.

But, for now, let's go Brooks Koepka!
